Wooler Wheel-on-an-Old Bike

It's about time!  The Wooler Wheel has been on the list of things to do for too long, so it's about time we, Abbey and Gerard, got on our bikes and did it!  

However, this is not simply a nice ride in the countryside. We know it's nice countryside, but we're not so sure if it's going to be a nice ride, we've heard about the big hill, but there's more to this ride for us.  We're doing this lovely ride in the nice countryside on OLD BIKES.

Whilst we're fundraising to support Tyneside Outdoors' youth work activities in Newcastle and South Shields we also want to shine a light on the plight of these, once-upon-a-time dream machines.  While they were once their rider's pride and joy, they're now being donated, albeit reluctantly, to our bike shop, TO bike. in South Shields.  But what do we do with a bike that's over 30, 40, or 50 years old?  Any ideas?  Answers on a postcard please!

At Tyneside Outdoors, we offer a professional Youth and Community Work service to residents in disadvantaged areas of Tyneside. We do this by working with young people in our youth groups and encouraging them to take part in a range of out-of-door activities to assist their personal development and most importantly- to have fun!

The organisation was created to fulfil a recognised need within inner city communities, to engage people in informal education through outdoor activities, and was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission in March 2014.
